Anne Shibley, Principal
Annie has ten years of teaching experience and believes in education equality. Annie received a B.A. in Elementary Education and a Master of Education, in Special Education at Lesley University in Cambridge. She started as a kindergarten teacher in Boston. She then moved to California and became a Special Education Teacher in middle and elementary school classrooms at Seneca Family of Agencies therapeutic day school, serving high needs youth for four years. After the Haitian earthquake in 2010, Annie moved to Haiti where she provided relief efforts and education. Annie started her career in San Francisco by helping to initiate a partnership between Seneca Family of Agencies and SFUSD. She coached teachers and was OP's Assistant Principal before jumping into the Principal role.
Heidy Shinn Slattengren, Administrator
Heidy fiercely believes that all students deserve a right to the best education possible. Prior to OP, Heidy spent sixteen years in teaching and administration at several high performing charter schools across the country, including KIPP, Rocketship, and Excel Academy. With her background in elementary and middle school education, Heidy is eager to lead OP as it continues to grow into a K-12 school over the next decade. Heidy earned her B.A. in Psychology and Sociology at Boston University and her M.Ed in Administration, Planning and Social Policy from Harvard.
Dave Allen, Business Manager
Dave has over nine years of nonprofit experience. With two parents who were public school teachers, Dave was instilled with an appreciation of good public education at an early age and is excited to use his learned and acquired skills to support OnePurpose School. A transplant from Ohio, Dave enjoys hiking and riding his bike around the area.
Gabriel Anaya, Instructional Assistant
Gabriel recently earned his Bachelors in Business Management at Cal State East Bay. Prior to joining OnePurpose, Gabriel spent 2.5 years working as a paraprofessional at a high performing charter school in San Jose. Gabriel is excited to be working at OnePurpose and believes that he will have a positive impact on students and the community.
Elizabeth Arellano, Student Support Assistant
Elizabeth is a San Francisco native. She earned her B.A. in Psychology and Anthropology/Sociology at Kalamazoo College in Michigan. She believes in providing socio emotional support to all students so they can be in a productive and positive mindset in order to learn. As a first generation college graduate, she believes in the mission of OnePurpose. Prior to OnePurpose, Elizabeth worked in community based work. She believes that collaboration between caretakers and school staff is critical in helping students believe in themselves and reach their full potential. Elizabeth loves to play soccer and lacrosse.
Yaneli Cevallos, Instructional Coach
Yaneli comes to OnePurpose School from the South San Francisco Unified School District with more than ten years of teaching experience. She loves running, exercising, cooking and traveling to new places. She is excited to join the team in her capacity of coaching teachers.
Emily Figueroa, Third Grade Teacher
Emily is a fully credentialed teacher who comes to OnePurpose School from Delano in the Central Valley where she has been teaching for years. She is originally from Los Angeles and attended college at New York University on an academic scholarship. She speaks Spanish, loves working out and can't wait to meet all of her new students!
Renee Gassler, Instructional Assistant
Renee recently completed a year of service as an Americorps member with City Year in San Jose. She mentored and tutored middle school students and led an after school program focused on STEAM lessons and helping students learn social emotional learning skills. She is originally from Massachusetts and has a Bachelor's degree in Education.
Mildred Hale, Kindergarten and TK Teacher
Mildred has more than 30 years of teaching experience in San Francisco Unified School District and enjoys outdoor activities like white water rafting, biking and walking. When she is outdoors, she thinks about all of the amazing art projects she can do with students to bring their subject matter learning to life!
Erica Lance, Second Grade Teacher
Erica was born in San Francisco and has a Master's degree from UCLA. She has 10 years of teaching experience, including in Los Angeles and most recently in Puerto Rico. Her passion is teaching and she can't wait to meet all of her new scholars and their families.
Sara Lopez, Fourth Grade Teacher
Sara is a fully credentialed teacher with more than thirteen years of education experience. Sara was born in Redwood City and grew up in the Bay Area, spending most of her free time hiking, swimming in the ocean, riding horses, and doing all kinds of art. She loves to rescue spiders from her colleagues' classrooms!
Dylan Meyers, Fifth Grade Teacher
Dylan hails from the San Francisco Peninsula. She received a B.A. in Economics with a minor in Political Science from the University of Michigan - Ann Arbor before returning home to join the OnePurpose family. She is passionate about fixing the achievement gap and fighting for the rights and opportunities of all children. Outside the classroom, you can likely find Dylan reading, trying a new restaurant, or hiking a Bay Area trail.
Sofia Sanchez, PE Teacher
Sofia has been passionate about helping youth since she was fourteen. A San Francisco native, born and raised in the Mission District, she started working at the Mission Neighborhood Health Center as a teenager and fell in love with educating youth. This will be her fourth year at OnePurpose School. Before starting at OnePurpose, she worked for five years at Up On Top after-school and summer programming creating fun, educational and engaging activities for students in the Tenderloin. She graduated from Sacramento State University with a double major in Recreation, Parks and Tourism Administration and Women's Studies. Her commitment to empowering youth of color from low-income communities and creating social change is her personal and professional mission in life.
Natalie Skinner, Resident Teacher
Natalie is joining the OnePurpose School team for the 2019-20 school year. She is originally from Australia and previously worked as a tutor and coach at 826 Valencia Street. She is passionate about working with students and loves taking students on learning field trips. She loves to travel and also attended school in Japan when she was younger.
Joe Steinberger, Development and Enrollment Manager
A native of San Diego, Joe has worked in fundraising for the past seven years. Most recently, he was the fundraising director for the Yes on 62 statewide ballot initiative campaign in California and was the Development Associate for Death Penalty Focus in San Francisco. Prior to that he worked in politics, raising money for local, statewide and federal elected officials. Joe received his B.A. in Communications from the University of California, San Diego.
